Local Information.
BRIDGNORTH SCHOOL—the number of boys at present in the Grammar School is 36, and under the management of the present Head-master, it seems in a fair way of reaching once more the distinction it formerly attained. It will be recollected that the number of Classmen and Prizemen at the Universities from Bridgnorth Grammar School was at one time greater than from any other school in England, proportionably.
BRIDGNORTH CHORAL SOCIETY—We are happy to mark the rising musical genius of our community,—which under the able tuition of Dr. Marshall, promises soon to become a prominent feature in this good old town.— Surely while our neighbours make Societies like this an important channel for refinement and recreation, we should not be backward in following their good examples, but by support and countenance show our encouragement and approbation of such desirable unions.
THE PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY is another of these praisworthy undertakings,—they have our hearty benison,—may success and prosperity attend them.
