Police Reports
NON-PAYMENT OF POOR RATE CALLS.—Mr. George Edwards, one of the overseers of Saint Leonard’s, was charged with neglecting to pay into the hands of the Treasurer of the Bridgnorth Union, the sum of £171, on the 11th. September. Mr. Edwards admitted the offense, but submitted, that the neglect of the Assistant Overseer, was the cause of the money not having been paid. After some remarks by T. W. Wylde Browne, Esq in the course of which he recommended the overseers to collect the rates themselves, Mr. Edwards was fined £2, including costs.
