General Information.
IRELAND.
"ERIN GO BRAGH," Sings the poor little shoeless shiftless urchin in his mud cabin across the Irish Sea, with as much energy as we in England shout "God Save the Queen!" just as if that simple cry "Ireland forever" were a panacea for all his miseries. When will our Irish brethren cease to be hoodwinked by their priestly tyrants, and influenced by their ribald "Catholic" press? The past month has had its usual catalogue of murdered landlords and ex-communicated peasants, of rampant treason & ribald profanity. From the disloyal columns of The Tablet, and the vulgar scurrility of Dr. Cahill to the impartial (!) jury-box, and the sacred altar, it is all the same; treason everywhere, violence everywhere, ignorance and superstition everywhere!
